Bear Alert!

A pair of Black Bears was seen on the outdoor range in the 200 yard area recently. Members are advised to keep aware while using the range and keep your distance if more bears are spotted, especially if cubs are observed.

Outdoor Range Closed Wednesday, June 24th And Tuesday, June 30th

The outdoor range will be closed from 9AM until 3PM on Wednesday, June 24th
and Tuesday, June 30th for Palmer Police pistol training.

Ranges Closed for Women On Target Class

On Saturday June 27th (rain date June 28th) the Outdoor, Indoor, and practice archery ranges will all be closed for the Women On Target class.

Nenameseck sign Welcome to the Nenameseck Sportsmen's Club Web Site (pronounced Nen na mess ick). The club is located on Bacon road in Palmer, Massachusetts. We offer a wide variety of ranges and sporting teams for both the Archer and Shooter alike.


Our outdoor rifle range features covered shooting positions with backstops at 100, 200 and 300 yards. The firing line provides a level concrete floor with large shooting benches at each station. The club also provides a 25 yard handgun range next to the main outdoor range and a Turkey Shoot range next to the clubhouse. Within the clubhouse is our heated 25 yard indoor range.

3D Archery Shoot The club also provides excellent facilities for the archer. In addition to the heated 25 yard indoor range, we provide two outdoor ranges including a 3D multi-station archery range with varied terrain to provide a challenge for even the most experienced archer. The club also hosts competitive shooting matches as well as training and instruction sessions for children.

Margaret O'Brian to Compete in a National History Day Competition in Maryland

Margaret O'Brian will compete in the the finals of the National History Day contest with based on her paper about John C. Garand, who created the M-1 infantry rifle while at the former Springfield Armory. Margaret is a student of the Club's Youth Archery Class and the Jr Rifle Class. Help Needed for the June Women On Target Class

Help is needed to assist with running the Women On Target class scheduled for June 27th. Any help would be appreciated, but Women assistance would be perfered. If you are interested in assisting with this event, contact Kim Golinski at .

Bowling Pin Director Needed

The club is in need of someone to run the monthly Bowling Pin matches. If you would like to run this event or get some more information on running the event, please contact .

Donate Your Old Computer to the Club

The club is in need of a computer to run the key card system from a PC on club grounds. The PC can be an older type, but must have the following features to be compatable with the card reader software:
CPU - Min of 500 MHz (preferably 1GHz)
Memory - Min of 256 Kb (perferably 512 Kb)
At least a 30 Gb Hard Disk Drive

William Reynolds has been appointed as the club's new Archery Range Officer and Ted Girard is the outdoor rifle range officer.

2nd Bowling Pin Director Needed!

The club is looking for a 2nd individual assist John Roberts to take over and run the Bowling Pin Shoots. For details on this position, visit the Want Ads page.

No Rifles on Outdoor Pistol Range!

Please DO NOT use ANY rifles on the outdoor pistol range (the range to the left of the storage container). All rifles must be fired from the covered shooting positions in the direction of the 100, 200, and 300 yard backstops.

Clubhouse Smoke Free During Public Events

No smoking is allowed in the clubhouse during events that are open to the public. Smokers must step outside during these events to light up. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.    Dick Silva

Accidents Happen, BUT...

Recently, A damaged spotlight was discovered on the indoor range. All indications are that it was accidentally hit. It's expected that sometimes things like this will happen, but please let one of the club officers know so that repair measures can be taken before scheduled events take place.
