This is a nine pt 162 lb buck taken on 12-2-10, while I was hunting a parcell of land near Monson. Now I have some Venison to share with my friends when the Ice fishing season begins. Gun used was a 60 year old Remington 1100 that I bought from a relative when I first started hunting. Shoots better and better each year I take it for a walk in the woods.
Distance 60-70 yards.
Bullet..Winchester 2 3/4 in Slug...Smooth bore.
Dropped him with one shot, the slug broke his back.
Clear day temp was 29 deg with a north west wind between 15 and 20 mph.
The shooting is the easy part, all the work begins after he is down...
