Rules:

1. One match a month will be held
2. Only official SBSL Paper Targets downloaded from this web site may be used for the Outdoor Rifle League.
3. NRA approved TQ-14 targets for Indoor Rifle and TQ-12 and TQ-13 targets for Indoor Pistol must be used.
4. Rifle shooting is done from a standing, kneeling, or prone position with no external support.
5. Pistol shooting is done from a standing position ONLY.
6. Pistol shooters may shoot with both hands, but with no external support and no support below the wrist (i.e. resting your shooting hand in the elbow of the other arm).
7. No Shooting Jackets, No Slings, No Palm rests or Target Competition Specific items.
8. Any Sighting system is allowed.
9. You may shoot as many practice sets as you choose, but submit only one for score.
10. You may enter more than one League/firearm/position combination, but only one score for each League/firearm/position combination
11. Handicapped shooter's do your best to conform to the rules.

Hunting Rifles

• Maximum Weight: 8 pounds, 8 ounces, including sights & anything legally used in competition (scope shade, clip, etc.).
• Trigger: Trigger pull shall not be less than 2 pounds. The safeties must be functional
• Stock: A hunting style stock. Attachments, either removable or permanent, are not allowed.
• Barrel: A hunting style tapered barrel. Replacment barrels must duplicate factory contor.
• Magazines: Magazines shall be loaded with a maximum of 5 rounds during the match, all cartridges must be loaded into the chamber from the magazine. Magazines not capable of holding 5 rounds may be reloaded as required, multiple magazines may be used, subject to the 5 round limit.

Standard Rifles

• Any rifle that would not be considered a Hunting rifle
• Maximum Weight: 10 pounds, 2 ounces, including sights & anything to be used in competition (scope shade, clip, etc.).
• Trigger: Any Trigger not subject to accidental discharge.
• Stock: Must be a traditionally styled and may not be bent and/or twisted so as to deviate from conventional configurations such as factory rifle stocks or silhouette stocks as manufactured by Fajen, McMillan, H-S Precision, and others.
• Barrel: The barrel may be no longer than 30 inches including any sleeve or attachment, as measured from the face of the closed bolt to the end of the barrel.

Open Pistol

• Maximum Weight: Any smallbore pistol weighing no more than 5.0 pounds and chambered for the .22 rimfire long rifle cartridge.
• Sights: Any sight that does not project an image on the target.
• Trigger: Any Trigger not subject to accidental discharge.
• Barrel: A factory standard barrel length of no more than 12 inches measured from breech face to muzzle.
