Scoring:

Outdoor Rifle:

Since you can see the exact impact point of each shot, only those shots which fall cleanly within the animal score ring are considered a "hit". Shots that touch the outer outline (score ring) of the animal will be counted as a miss.

Indoor Rifle and Pistol:

Follow the instructions printed at the bottom of the NRA approved target. A Silhouette Scoring Overlay IS required.

Each month, scores will be listed for each league/firearm/position category with scores listed in descending order by total number of hits. Members can also achieve a shooting class based on their shooting skill level from the chart below:

HUNTER RIFLE
Shots Class B Class A Class AA Class AAA Master Class
40 0-14 15-19 20-25 26-31 32-40
STANDARD RIFLE
Shots Class B Class A Class AA Class AAA Master Class
40 0-14 15-20 21-27 28-33 34-40
PISTOL
Shots Class B Class A Class AA Class AAA Master Class
40 0-14 15-21 22-29 30-35 36-40

Skill level raitings are determined and assigned after completion of a semi-annual reporting cycle. 1st cycle is from January through June and the last cycle for the year is from July through December.

Please remember these are "Fun Matches" basically practice for the "steel". So be honest with yourself and score these targets harshly, if you think that shot touched the outer ring (or the overlay indicates the dot touches the outline), then drop it. If used properly these "Matches" will really help you on the steel and be a great way to keep track of your own progress.
